Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina
Saturday, 16 June 2018
For this easy to prepare dish you will need:
❤ gnocchi (fresh or not / from the supermarket)
❤ mozzarella cheese (preferably di Bufala Campana, if you want to give that original touch to your recipe)
❤ tomato juice slightly concentrated or fresh tomato (without seeds). If you want to give that original touch, try to find fresh tomatoes 'tipo San Marzano'.
❤ parmesan cheese (optionally, for decoration)
❤ olive oil
❤ honey or sugar or any sweetener of your taste
❤ garlic (crashed)
❤ black pepper
step 1: In a pan put the tomato sauce and add some salt if you want. Bring it to a boil.
step 2: When tomato sauce starts to boil, drop into the pan the olive oil, the garlic, the honey, the pepper and stir them well.
step 3: Put in the mixture the gnocchi and leave them to simmer in medium heat for 3-5 minutes (or according to the instruction on the package)
step 4: Cut the mozzarella cheese into pieces and put them into the hot sauce.
step 5: Turn off the heating and stir for some seconds.
Serve the food into white plates and decorate with fresh basil and parmesan flakes.
Bon Apetit!!!
Note: the original 'Gnocchi alla Sorrentina' dish needs one last preparation step. The already cooked dish, before served, goes into the oven for some minutes. I do not consider it necessary....it is up to you to decide!
